Sept. 10 (Sat)

  • ANNUAL CHRYSANTHEMUM & DAHLIA SHOW - 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM @ Royal Botanical Gardens (690 Plains Road West, Burlington)

    • The Hamilton District Chrysanthemum and Dahlia Society annual show includes dahlia blooms from the entire array of the ADS classification and is a highly impressive spectacle of size, colour, and form! Entrance into the show is included in your Garden Admission or Membership. Next Date: Sept. 11 (Sun) @ 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM

  • WEED WALK - 10:30 AM @ NEILSON PARK (1575 Neilson Road, Scarborough)

    • Environmental biologist Deborah Dale leads a short walk to examine some of the common invasive plants that are threatening our parks, natural areas, and yards. Learn about the history of these plants, how to identify them and manage invasive plants (like buckthorn, garlic mustard, dog strangling vine, and knotweed), why they have become such a problem in our city, and what you can do to help reduce their spread. Sept. 21 (Wed)

  • NATIONAL TREE DAY 2022 - Across Canada!

    • This is an opportunity to celebrate the many benefits that trees provide: clean air, cooler cities, wildlife habitat, and our connection with nature. This year's celebrations will take place in every province, with more people planting more trees than in previous years. Learn about this year’s celebrations and find a tree event near you.

Sept. 22 (Thurs)

  • COMMUNITY INVASIVE SPECIES CONTROL - 5:30 PM @ ERINDALE PARK (1695 Dundas Street West, Mississauga)

    • Led by Forestry staff from the City of Mississauga, this work will help protect native vegetation and wildlife in Erindale Park. You will also have an opportunity to learn about the natural heritage of the park and Mississauga's Invasive Species Management Plan.

  • HOMETOWN HABITAT: Stories of Bringing Nature Home - 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM @ WATERLOO PUBLIC LIBRARY - Eastside Branch (2001 University Avenue East, Waterloo)

    • Join for a screening of Hometown Habitat: Stories of Brining Nature Home (directed by Catherine Zimmerman, featuring Doug Tallamy) followed by a Q&A with Reep Green Solutions and City of Waterloo. This 90-minute documentary emphasizes the critical importance of planting natives for the survival and vitality of local ecosystems. This documentary is on a mission to make natural landscaping the new norm. It shares the inspiring stories of communities coming together to naturalize landscapes, support habitats for wildlife, and foster natural beauty.

  • "Where are the Invasive Plants?" A Nature Hike in North York - 10:00 AM @ BLACK CREEK PARKLAND (5 Shoreham Drive, North York)

    • Interested in invasive plants? Come learn about them on a hike led by Invasive Plants be Gone in the York University Heights Community!

  • BRAMPTON RESIDENTIAL TREE GIVEAWAY @ 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM @ GORE MEADOWS COMMUNITY CENTRE (10150 The Gore Road, Brampton)

    • Brampton residents can register for one free tree or shrub that they can plant on their property. Help Brampton plant one million trees!

Sept. 25 (Sun)

  • LONG BRANCH TREE FEST - 12 PM to 4 PM @ Marie Curtis Park (2 Forty Second Street, Etobicoke)

    • Say hello to the GROW & Apprenticeship teams and join in on a fun afternoon of live music, activities, educational walks, tree care, vendor market, and more!

  • TORONTO CHAPTER SHOP TALK - 6 PM to 9 PM @ Black Lab Brewing (818 Eastern Avenue, Toronto)

    • The ‘Shop Talk’ series is back in Toronto! No agenda, no speakers, just get together and talk shop.
